本研究基於不確定性管理理論和動機信息管理理論，通過配額抽樣（N = 907）和中介調節模型，探討在健康保健領域，不確定性差異（個人能接受的不確定性與實際感受到的不確定性之間的差距）對信息管理策略和健康焦慮水平的影響。研究發現，不確定性差異會增加個體通過社交媒體接觸健康信息的行為，減少信息迴避的傾向。然而，無論是信息接觸還是信息迴避都會增加健康焦慮。中介分析發現，只有當不確定性差異作為一種動機減少信息迴避時，才能進而減少健康焦慮。此外，本研究還發現個體健康狀況的調節效果，即個體健康水平越高，不確定性差異對信息迴避和健康焦慮的影響越小。本研究揭示了公眾在健康管理方面的困境：一方面，人們希望減少與健康相關的不確定性和焦慮，但社交媒體上的健康信息卻未能有效滿足這一需求。本文提出了相應的改善建議。 |
| Abstract |
Grounded in uncertainty management theory and the theory of motivated information management, this study explored how uncertainty discrepancy (the gap between the level of uncertainty that an individual would desire and the level of uncertainty that an individual is experiencing) affected information management strategies and levels of health anxiety in the healthcare context. Using a quota sampling (N = 907) and a moderated mediation model, the findings indicated that uncertainty discrepancy increased individuals’ information seeking for healthcare information via social media and reduced information avoidance. However, both information seeking and avoidance were found to increase health anxiety. Mediation analysis revealed that uncertainty discrepancy reduced information avoidance and subsequently reduced health anxiety. Additionally, this study found a moderating effect of individual health status, indicating that the higher an individual’s health level, the lesser the impact of the uncertainty discrepancy on information avoidance and health anxiety. This study highlights the public’s dilemma in health management: people need to reduce their health-related uncertainty and anxiety, yet the health information available on social media fails to meet this need.
