李金銓教授是經師，更是人師，言傳身教如何做一個學術「手藝人」。他教我們取法乎上，通過閱讀「傷腦筋的書」養成學術品味；發現自己的志趣，發展出的題目「五年以後仍在『腹中燃燒』」；敢於拋出論斷，在抽象階梯上勾連理論與證據，上下自如；從小處著手，又能關聯到更大的關切。他以自己的謙遜、包容、投入和關懷，為我們點亮明燈。 |
| Abstract |
Professor Chin-Chuan Lee was not only an intellectual mentor but also a moral exemplar who guided us step by step in becoming true craftsmen of scholarship. He taught us to aspire to the highest standards and to cultivate academic taste by reading “challenging books”; to identify our own enduring passions and develop research topics that would “continue to burn within us five years later”; to dare to advance bold claims, moving with ease along the ladder of abstraction to connect theory with lived experiences; and to begin with concrete details while linking them to broader concerns. Through his humility, openness, dedication, and care, Professor Chin-Chuan Lee brightens the path for us.
